When my baby was little, I used those regular baby bowls and put a plate on top of them for use in the microwave. First, I could not see the inside of the bowl. I needed to know if it the baby food started to bubble. The bubbling meant that the baby food was getting too warm. Secondly, covering the baby food with that plate somehow made the food heat on the sides and not in the middle. It was just a complete mess. If only I would have had these microwaveable baby bowls with lids. The lid that comes with these baby bowls has a hole, allowing steam to escape while heating. This limits the heat spots in the baby food. Use the lid with the microwaveable baby bowl to store the baby food leftovers in the refrigerator. Choose from three different baby bowl colors including blue / yellow, blue / green and red / yellow.
